The Immigrant Learning Center, with our partner the Institute for Immigration Research at George Mason University, has compiled fact sheets to answer the most pressing questions about the top ten immigrant populations in the Greater Boston area. The reports explore the most common occupations, educational backgrounds, median income and more for each immigrant population.

Immigrants from India are one of most highly educated and economically prosperous immigrant groups in the U.S. as many immigrate for education or STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) careers. In Greater Boston, they are the third largest immigrant group after, in order, China and the Dominican Republic and ahead of Haiti, Brazil, El Salvador, Vietnam, Canada, Guatemala and Cape Verde. Data from 2017.
